Mena Jajel a.k.a. Megan Slator

Megan a.k.a. Mena likes to say she started dancing before she was born. Her mother danced throughout her pregnancies. Her actual belly dance education started at 11 when she started taking classes from her mother, Talea Jajel of Fargo, ND.  She started out studying the folkloric dances of several Middle Eastern countries before moving on to Turkish dance style.  She also studied Lebanese style dance with Margo Abdo-O'Dell in Minneapolis.  Recently she studied classical Egyptian style dance with Jasmin Jahal in Chicago.  She now lives in Tallahassee and takes class with Julianna.  She taught belly dance classes for several years in Fargo, ND and has taught girls under ten and women in their seventies.  She would love to continue the tradition taught to her by her mother by sharing it with her own daughters someday.
